6SigmaET R15: Thermal Simulation for Effective Electronics

Thermal simulation using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) provides users with an accurate visual representation of the temperature and airflow inside their electronics device. Being able to see, understand and test such data under various circumstances enables engineers to design more effective devices, troubleshooting problems ahead of prototyping. 

We recently launched the 15th release of our thermal simulation software 6SigmaET. Release 15 has new features that further improve the electronics design process with increased speed, accuracy, and superior visualizations of results. 

Matt Evans, Senior Product Engineer, explains, “We are committed to creating a thermal simulation software package that helps engineers test their designs quickly, as well as investigate and resolve thermal issues before they occur. Release 15 accelerates this process with new features like our enhanced graphics for post processing results and GPU-accelerated radiation calculations, which make our solver even faster.” Here are some highlights from Release 15 that speak to this commitment:

•GPU radiation calculations are now 100x faster
•Models are more lifelike with ray tracing technology and photorealistic graphics
•Model creation and post processing can be automated through 6SigmaCommander
•Model liquid cooled electronics efficiently with the only thermal management software in the electronics industry offering a fully integrated connection between the 1D network and the 3D model
